Step 1: Apply to Your State Board of Nursing
Before registering for the NCLEX, you must apply for licensure through your state board of nursing. Each state has its own application, fees, and requirements. You will need to provide proof of nursing education completion, pass a background check, and submit any required documentation. Processing times vary by state from 2-6 weeks. Start this process before graduation if your state allows it.
Step 2: Register with Pearson VUE
